Madhuri Dixit married Dr Shriram Nene in 1999 and moved to the US. She took a break from the movies but her stardom never lost its sheen. Madhuri has been back in India for over a decade now along with her family, and her children are now in college in Los Angeles. In a recent video shared by Dr Nene on his YouTube channel, Madhuri spoke about her sons Arin (21) and Ryan (19), and recalled how they have been protective of each other ever since they were little kids. She even recalled an incident when her two-and-a-half year old son stood up for his older brother against a bully.
Dr Nene’s mother, who was also a part of the chat, recalled the time when Arin and Ryan were young, and Arin shielded Ryan from the world. She said, “He was so protective about his brother Ryan. He would always say, ‘He is my brother, my younger brother’. No matter where he went, you (Arin) were protecting him.” When asked about their current equation, she said, “I haven’t seen them that close now.”
Madhuri jumped in the conversation and shared that Ryan is just as protective about his older brother. She recalled an incident where a young Ryan stood up against a bully who was troubling Arin. “I remember when Arin got pushed on the football ground, Ryan was just two and half years old. He just stood in front of that boy who had pushed Arin and said that, ‘You cannot treat my brother like that. Do you know who I am? Do you know who he is? He is my brother.’ It was amazing to see that.” To this, Ryan joked, “Parents can makeup anything about us when we were young and fool us.”
Madhuri’s family often hosts these roundtable discussions. Previously, during one such session, the family discussed Arin’s experienced of living alone in the US. “For one thing, the off campus area we are in, is not so great but we are not that far away and the school has some systems in place to make sure that we are never out on our own. We have free lifts from 6pm to 2am. So we can call a free Uber, which is covered by the school to get back to our program or to get to our campus.”
Madhuri Dixit was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
