In 2010, Dibakar Banerjee shattered conventional storytelling norms with Love Sex Aur Dhokha. Now, he revisits this formula with Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, immersing us in the lives of three individuals who evoke a sense of déjà vu, as if we’ve witnessed similar situations before on screens. Drawing parallels to the setups of reality TV shows like Bigg Boss, the upcoming film is produced by Ektaa Kapoor. The makers have now released the trailer of the upcoming film.
The trailer presents a rollercoaster of emotions, from betrayal and drama to abuse, all intertwined with trippy visuals and explicit content. Through three different lives and their corresponding stories, it offers a glimpse into the complex world we live in today.
Dibakar’s latest work goes all out, from the sensationalism of reality TV where a person resorts to slapping her own mother for ratings, to shedding light on the struggles of a transgender person facing abuse, and even exploring how a teenage gamer’s obsession with likes and views ruins his life. Bonita Rajpurohit is playing the role of Kullu in the film. Paritosh and Abhinav Singh also star in lead roles.
Sharing the trailer, the makers wrote, “Served HOT for the digital generation. Ek baar phir hoga Love, Sex aur Dhokha.” Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 will be released in theatres on April 19th. Mouni Roy, Swastika Mukherjee, Tushar Kapoor, Uorfi Javed and Anu Malik also make appearances.
Opening up about the film, Dibakar had previously said, “Making LSD and not showing the truth is not possible. So, while making LSD 2, we portrayed the same truth, an authentic picture of life that we see all around us. But, these days, instead of believing the truth, the fashion of ignoring the truth has increased.”
