Superstar Vijay’s latest blockbuster Leo is holding it steady at the box office, with collections still ranging over a crore at the domestic front even after 20 days. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Leo minted Rs 1.65 cr on its third Tuesday.
The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial had minted similar figures on its third Monday, ensuring that it will continue to pretty much maintain the mark till the weekend, where it will witness minor jump in collections yet again.
Leo has so far netted Rs 332 cr at the Indian box office, including all languages. On its third Tuesday, the film recorded an average occupancy of 16 percent. The collections have now placed Leo to challenge and eventually surpass the lifetime of this year’s biggest Tamil hit, Jailer.
The Rajinikanth starrer actioner, which released in August, did a business of Rs 348 cr domestically, a record that Vijay’s film look to chase and eventually get under its name.
Leo will also possibly challenge the worldwide figure of Jailer, which stood at Rs 604 cr. Leo so far has minted Rs 576 cr globally, without counting its Tuesday collections.
Leo marked the first collaboration between Tamil star Vijay and acclaimed director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Leo boasts an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Sandy, and Gautham Menon. Leo was released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
