Kichcha Sudeep’s daughter Saanvi Sudeep has grown up around many celebrities but in a recent interview, Saanvi shared that she has had crushed on movie stars ever since she was little. Saanvi said that she had a crush on Sidharth Malhotra ever since she first saw him in Karan Johar’s 2012 film Student of the Year. Saanvi confessed that she was quite upset when Sidharth got married to Kiara Advani and cried a lot. So much so that her friends sent her condolence messages when Sidharth tied the knot in 2023.
In a chat shared on Jinal Modi’s YouTube channel, Saanvi said that apart from Allu Arjun, her longest celebrity crush was Sidharth Malhotra. “I had a crush on him from the moment I saw him,” she said. Saanvi then added, “I have fully cried when he got married. To a point where I put a meme on my story saying ‘Alexa, play Channa Mereya’.”
Saanvi said that before Sidharth got married, she would share all the posters featuring Sidharth on her Instagram stories and would keep saving all of them in ‘Highlights’ section. At one point, Saanvi had around 700 stories featuring Sidharth but then she deleted all of them. “Until then I used to put all his fan page posters, I used to put them on my story and I used to highlight them. Each highlight has 100 stories and I had seven filled highlights on my profile with just Sidharth Malhotra pictures. After he got married, I felt a little embarrassed to have them on my profile,” she said.
Saanvi said that if she ends up becoming an actor, he might find it very odd that her social media handles are all about him. “Because I was just thinking, that one day I should become an actor, suppose he just happens to look at my profile, what must he think of me after that. That’s when I deleted everything. I cried when I was doing it but I deleted everything,” she said with a laugh.
When the interviewer asked if watching his wedding video was like watching the “saddest movie of your life,” Saanvi said it was and shared, “It was. I refused to watch it after my… My friends used to text me saying sorry for your loss. It was very embarrassing.”
Previously, director SS Rajamouli also spoke about his daughter’s fondness for Sidharth. Back in 2016, the RRR director took to X (then Twitter) to thank Sidharth for meeting his daughter and Sidharth praised her level headedness.
