Kareena Kapoor dismisses catfight rumours with Priyanka Chopra as ‘rubbish’, admits she made ‘foolish decisions’ when she was younger

Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor Khan were pitted as rivals during the 2000s, and they certainly didn’t do much to alleviate this notion in public. In fact, both Kareena and Priyanka went on Koffee with Karan and appeared to take digs at each other, before sharing the couch some years later seemingly mending fences.

In a new interview with mid-day, Kareena denied ever having ‘catfights’ with Priyanka, but admitted that she said ‘foolish things’ when she was younger. She said she has become a more ‘relaxed’ person now that she is a wife and mother with a successful career behind her. Asked if there was any tension between her and Priyanka, Kareena said, “Not all all! Rubbish. I was like, ‘What is going on’?”

Reflecting on her youth, she said that while she was an ‘ambitious’ person, she was never ‘fiercely ambitious’. She said, “You’re constantly just rushing and trying to prove yourself. It’s a different kind of energy. I should have just chilled out, taken a breath. You say foolish things, take foolish decisions, but that’s also a part of the person I am today.”

Kareena continued, “In the 2000s, everyone was having a catfight. Today, we don’t even hear such things. Who knows, they might be happening, but things are a lot more chilled out. But maybe we had that energy of just wanting to prove ourselves. But that attitude didn’t last, and you learn through that.” Asked how she became more settled, she said, “It was just age. As I entered my 30s, I just felt a lot more relaxed. I found a relationship, so you balance your energies out. That also helped. And giving a string of successes…”

On their joint appearance on Koffee with Karan in 2019, Priyanka had also commented on their reported beef in the past. “I think we didn’t even know each other. We never spent time enough with each other. By the time we did, we really started to get along. But till we didn’t do that, it was just weird energy created by people,” she said.

Kareena made her streaming debut with Jaane Jaan recently, while Priyanka made her streaming series debut earlier this year, with Citadel.
