The latest season of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives saw three new additions from Delhi–Shalini Passi, Kalyani Chawla, and Ranbir Kapoor’s sister Riddhima Sahni. They joined the OG wives Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Panday, Seema Sajdeh, and Neelam Kothari. While the show attracted a lot of attention, it also turned Shalini Passi into an overnight sensation with many of her conversations and looks going viral. Her lifestyle, raw food diet, museum-like home, art collection, over-the-top outfits, and interesting set of hobbies had viewers hooked to the series with many claiming she was the highlight of the show.
Recently, Karan Johar was seen pulling Maheep Kapoor’s leg and asking her if she is “feeling threatened” with Shalini Passi’s popularity. On Wednesday, Karan Johar dropped a video on his Instagram handle where he can be seen recording Maheep Kapoor and asking her some awkward questions regarding the show, which she refuses to answer.
The video opens with an annoyed Maheep asking Karan, “Why you doing this?” While Karan ignores her question, and trolls her for her old LV bag. Maheep reminds him, “You gifted it to me.” He then asks, “How are you feeling that Shalini Passi is getting so much attention on the show? Are you feeling threatened?” Maheep replies, “Karan, please switch off the camera.” Karan then says, “I am just asking you. Tell us about your inner thoughts.” She says, “I refuse. You are giving me a headache.” Karan quickly teases her, “Has her popularity given you a headache?” Maheep simply turns away from the camera making a shocking face and Karan ends the video in his signature style as he says “Toodles”.
Shalini Passi was introduced in the show as a philanthropist and art enthusiast, who lives in a 20,000 sq ft house in Delhi. Her lavish lifestyle, yet down-to-earth nature won hearts online. Her lines like, “The only reason I don’t hold grudges against other people is because it affects my skin,” and, “I like things more than people because they don’t talk back,” became popular on the internet and among memers. Shalini also grabbed attention for her carefree nature and YOLO attitude. In the show, she hosted a huge MASH ball where she dressed as Cleopatra. Her outfits throughout the show along with her unique bag collection had even the OG wives hooked to her.
