Kangana Ranaut confirms Emergency is postponed: ‘Back to back releasing films calendar, over packed last quarter of 2024’

Actor Kangana Ranaut’s directorial project Emergency’s release has been postponed. The actor announced that as earlier planned, the film will not be releasing on November 22 and will aim for next year’s release.

Kangana took to Twitter to make this announcement. She wrote an emotional note saying that her entire life’s learnings and earnings have been invested in this film. She started the announcement with, “Dear friends, I have an important announcement to make, Emergency movie is the culmination of my entire life’s learnings and earnings as an artist. Emergency is not just a film for me it’s a test of my worth and character as an individual.”

She continued, “Tremendous response that our teaser and other units got from everyone encouraged us all.My heart is full of gratitude and wherever I go people ask me about Emergency’s release date. We have announced Emergency release date as 24th November 2023 but because of all the changes in my back to back releasing films calendar and over packed last quarter of 2024 we have decided to shift Emergency to next year (2024).”

The actor closed her statement by saying that she will announce the new release date soon.

Kangana’s followers commented positively and supported her decision. A fan wrote, “Very Wise decision. The movie deserves widespread release for mass audience love and support & It’s all about timing and getting the most people sat down in seats!!”, while another one wrote, “Full support queen.”

Kangana will be seen playing the role of India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film is based around the 1975 emergency period which was imposed by Gandhi. The movie also has a strong lineup supporting cast, which includes Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary, Anupam Kher and Milind Soman.

More recently, another film’s release date was announced postponed. Prabhas’s much awaited film Salaar, which was expected to release in December will now be releasing later, due to Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki releasing the same month.
