Junaid Khan, who is the son of actor Aamir Khan, has had a rather unusual journey in the movies. Junaid made his debut at the age of 30 with a Netflix film, and now, he is looking forward to his first theatrical release Loveyapa, which also stars Khushi Kapoor. Junaid has been actively promoting his film and in a recent interview, the actor said that he enjoys conversations about cinema, but not with his father Aamir Khan.
Junaid shared that he has a great equation with Khushi’s father, producer Boney Kapoor and can talk to him for hours. “I love hanging out with him. I can speak for hours together with him. He has the best stories, and he has seen so much in cinema. Almost 50 years worth of experience,” said Junaid. However, when he was told about how his father Aamir Khan too must have an impressive repository of stories and shared experiences, the Loveyapa actor stumped everyone with his response.
“I’d rather sit with Boney uncle,” said Junaid, who also shared his reasoning behind this response. “Of course, he is like an encyclopedia. He knows so many things about a wide range of subjects, for sure. But as they say… ghar ki murgi dal barabar (We value the unfamiliar more than what we value the familiar).”
Nevertheless, Aamir has been a strong presence in the promotional activities for Loveyapa, which is directed by Advait Chandan, who previously helmed films like Secret Superstar and Laal Singh Chadha. Aamir was there for the trailer launch of Loveyapa, and then accompanied his son and Khushi Kapoor on Bigg Boss during the promotions. Aamir is also producing Junaid’s next film, which also stars Sai Pallavi.
