Janhvi Kapoor recently attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Neeraj Ghaywan’s new film, Homebound. She plays a supporting role in the drama, starring Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, and produced by Karan Johar. Janhvi has flaunted about eight looks at this year’s festival, and now, a BTS clip of hers has made its way to social media. In the clip, Janhvi playfully predicts how trolls are going to react to her look, but that she doesn’t care what they have to say.
In the clip, Janhvi Kapoor says, “I look mesmerising. I look breathtaking. I cannot wait to eat.” She adds, “They are going to say it is plastic, but who cares?”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Janhvi shared her reaction to learning that Homebound would premiere at Cannes. “I know I had gone for a get-together of sorts and I get a phone call and he is like, ‘I just got the email, we just got accepted!’ We got into this category that I can’t pronounce for the life of me! Anyway, I jumped on someone as soon as I found out and screamed and heaved!”

Homebound was warmly received after its screening in the Un Certain Regard category. The film got a 9-minute standing ovation at Cannes 2025 which had left the director Neeraj Ghaywan emotional. The film is executive produced by Martin Scorsese, while Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra serve as producers. The film revolves around two friends hailing from a village in North India, who suddenly find their friendship going through a trial when they pursue jobs as police officers.
Both Janhvi and her sister, Khushi Kapoor, have faced criticism for the perceived procedures that they’ve undergone. Khushi has admitted to having had work done. In an appearance at SCREEN Live, she said, “In no way am I saying that this something that everyone should do or needs to do at all. Of course, I haven’t done the hundred things that people have said that I have done but it is a part of taking care of yourself. Sometimes you do skincare, or do facials or fillers if you want to. I don’t think it should be something, someone should be scrutinised for because it’s a personal choice. You are not forcing someone to do something or not condoning it in any way.”
