Jaat box office collection day 14: Sunny Deol’s Jaat, which released in theatres two weeks ago, has been more consistent than Salman Khan’s Sikandar as the film is continuing to earn more than Rs 1 crore at the box office every day. On its second Wednesday in the cinemas, Jaat earned Rs 1.09 crore, which is more than Sikandar’s Rs 40 lakh earnings on its 14th day. Jaat’s nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 79.2 crore at the box office. During its lifetime, Sikandar made around Rs 110 crore. Jaat surpassed the lifetime collection of Sunny Deol’s Gadar (2000), making Jaat his second highest earning film after Gadar 2 (2023). Gadar earned around Rs 77 crore back in 2001.
On day 14, Jaat witnessed an overall occupancy of about 8.81 percent with most of the crowd turning up for the night shows. The film had a total screening of 2240 shows on Wednesday, which is about 111 shows less than what it screened on its day 13. Despite it being the second most successful film of the actor’s career, Jaat’s screen count is reducing with every passing day.
According to Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind Sunny Deol’s action thriller, Jaat earned Rs 102.13 crore gross worldwide in just 10 days of its release. However, with the film being reportedly made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, it is far from being called a commercial success.
Jaat, directed by filmmaker Gopichand Malineni, was an attempt by Sunny Deol to reach the masses in South. After Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, many Bollywood stars have tried collaborating with south filmmakers but all of them haven’t experienced success. Recently, Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, which was produced by Atlee and directed by Kalees, bombed at the box office. Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which was directed by AR Murugadoss, also failed to impress the audience. However, the director has previously experienced massive success in Bollywood with Aamir Khan’s Ghajini.
Jaat also stars Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Jagapathi Babu, and Ramya Krishnan among others.
