Shah Rukh Khan knows how to steal our hearts, or let’s put it this way: whatever Shah Rukh Khan does is likely to win over our hearts due to the unique charm he effortlessly adds to everything he touches. The scenes at Eden Gardens, West Bengal, during the IPL 2024 cricket match between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday, exemplified this.
KKR’s co-owner, SRK arrived with his daughter Suhana Khan, son AbRam Khan, and Suhana’s friend and Bollywood star Ananya Panday to watch the match. KKR defeated LSG by eight wickets in the Eden Gardens match, marking their fourth victory of the season, much to the delight of SRK.
Meanwhile, following KKR’s victory, Shah Rukh was spotted collecting the fallen flags of KKR, sporting his team’s jersey and a small ponytail. Videos of him humbly picking up the flags in his stand and handing them over to the staff immediately went viral on social media, winning the hearts of fans and netizens alike.
After his team’s victory, SRK, accompanied by AbRam, also took a victory lap around the cricket ground, waving to the crowd and blowing kisses to the cheering supporters. Later, Bollywood’s Baadshah also met with Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, the skippers of KKR and LSG, respectively, and shared warm interactions with them.
Earlier in the day, pictures and videos of the Khans and Ananya engrossed in the match had gone viral. They were also spotted cheering for the team, fully invested in the game.
Shah Rukh Khan has always drawn attention whenever he arrives to watch KKR matches. Even as a spectator, his intense investment in the match is visible through the tension on his face.
Recently, Bollywood star Juhi Chawla, who co-owns the Kolkata Knight Riders team with her husband, entrepreneur Jay Mehta, and SRK, mentioned that she and Shah Rukh were not the best people to watch an IPL match with, as they become superbly tense when their team is playing.
“IPL is always exciting. We all are in front of our television sets. When our team plays, it is interesting to watch them and we all are highly tense,” Juhi Chawla said, news agency IANS reported.
She further mentioned, “It is not good to watch a match with him (Shah Rukh Khan) because when our team is not performing well, he vents out his anger at me. I tell him to tell that to the team and not me. So we are not the best people to watch the match with. I think the same goes for a lot of owners. They all can be seen sweating while their teams play.”
