Ibrahim Ali Khan defends lashing out at Pakistani journalist for nose job comment: ‘It felt like a below-the-belt remark’

Ibrahim Ali Khan had threatened to bash up a Pakistani journalist after the latter commented on the actor's alleged botched-up nose job in his debut film, Nadaaniyan.

Ibrahim Ali Khan has maintained a stoic silence on the harsh reviews he’s received for his debut film, Shauna Gautam’s romantic comedy Nadaaniyan, which released on Netflix India last month. The only time he lost his cool was when he DM’d a Pakistani journalist over his comments on the film — including a claim that Ibrahim had a botched nose job.

Ibrahim recently defended his actions. “I know I shouldn’t have reacted but I’m also new to public scrutiny. When he made that personal comment about my body, it felt like a below-the-belt remark. But going forward, I’ll be more composed. I shouldn’t have reacted. It won’t happen again,” said the actor.

In the interview to Filmfare, Ibrahim also said that he’s working on his anger issues. “I’m a calm person… Just joking! I can have a bit of a short fuse but I’m working on it. It’s not like I randomly lose it, but yeah, if I’m in a bad mood or something, then maybe,” he added.

For the unversed, Ibrahim Ali Khan had messaged a Pakistani journalist in March: “Tamur almost like Taimoor… you got my brother’s name. Guess what you don’t got? His face. You ugly piece of trash. Since you can’t keep your words to yourself, don’t bother, they’re irrelevant just like you. Ugly goddamn piece of shit I feel bad for you and your family – and if I see you on the streets one day, I’ll make sure I leave you uglier than you are – you walking piece of scum.”

Tamur shared the screenshot of Ibrahim’s DM on his Instagram Story with his response, “Hahahahaha see that’s my man. This is the guy I want to see in the movie. Not that fake cornetto mushy cringy human. But hey yes that nose job comment was in bad taste. Rest I totally own up. Massive fan of your dad, don’t let him down.”

Ibrahim Ali Khan is the son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. He’s the younger brother of actor Sara Ali Khan. Ibrahim worked as an Assistant Director on Karan Johar’s hit 2023 romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. He then made his acting debut with fellow AD Shauna Gautam’s directorial debut Nadaaniyan. However, the first film Ibrahim shot for awaits a release. Sarzameen, directed by Boman Irani’s son Kayoze Irani, also stars Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Both the films have been produced by Karan’s banner Dharma Productions.

We make way for a new wave of talent, one that I cannot wait for the world to see. So, stay tuned as @iakpataudi makes his way into your hearts and soon…onto the screens!”
