The Khans are on the dream wishlist of every director and the same holds true for British-Indian director, Gurinder Chadha. The director, who is in Mumbai currently gracing the MAMI film festival said that she would love to work with the powerful Khan troika of Bollywood. “Who wouldn’t want to direct the Khans? Every director wants to,” said Gurinder.
Gurinder, who is busy filming her next film titled, Viceroy threw light on the challenges of making a period film. “It’s a big challenge. Viceroy is the first British film about the Raj and the transfer of power from Britain to India made by a British Indian director. It is a British film made from an Indian perspective.”

The acclaimed filmmaker also lavished praise on Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, who plays an important role in the Viceroy. “Huma is a superb, great and natural actress. I think it was a challenge for her because she had to be in a period movie which is also British. So she had lose all her Bombay Delhi kind of talking and become proper and she did it with great skill. I think she will be launched in a big way internationally through this movie,” said Gurinder.
