Actor Hansika Motwani has revealed that until a few years ago, designers would refuse to give her clothes because she primarily worked in South films. The actor mentioned that there has been a change in the last few years, noting that the same designers who once ignored her, are now eager to provide their clothes for trailer launches and other events. She shared that she bears no grudges against them.
In an interview with Gulte.com, Hansika said, “There have been many designers and they were like ‘oh, no South actor, we don’t want to give you clothes. But now, they themselves come ahead and they are like ‘oh you have an event, you have a trailer launch, why don’t you wear us?’ I politely said yes. There has to be a difference between them and me right?”
The actor said that she did not hold a grudge against them and said, “I was like ‘they will come back, I will work really hard’. And when the same people have come back I am like ‘now you want to style me, dress me, fair enough’.”
Hansika expressed her perspective by stating that regardless of the films she has been a part of, she considers herself an Indian actor. She said, “Few words don’t describe me. I always said I am an Indian actor, I work in Indian cinema. These lines are getting blurred. I’ve been acting for a while now and I’ve always been said I’m an Indian cinema actor.”
The actor recently tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Sohael Kathuria in Rajasthan. On the work front, the actor will next be seen in Man, which is bankrolled by Madras Talkies.
