Fateh box office collection day 1: Actor Sonu Sood’s directorial debut, Fateh, has opened to a decent box office collection. According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, the film, which also stars Jacqueline Fernandes, earned Rs 2.45 crore net on its opening day. Fateh, which is the first Hindi film to release in theatres in 2025, held its own against S Shankar’s Telugu film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, which earned Rs 7 crore on its opening day in Hindi. The total box office collection of Game Changer across all five languages stood at Rs 51 crore on Friday (according to Sacnilk).
The Sonu Sood-starrer Fateh witnessed an overall occupancy of 29.14% on its opening day, Friday, with most viewers opting for the night show. In Mumbai, where the film was released in 297 screens, the occupancy was slightly higher at 37.75%. Meanwhile, in Delhi and NCR, which had 471 shows, the occupancy stood at 36.25%. The moderate occupancy suggests that the film has generated some interest among viewers, but it still has a long way to go to pack theaters.
Despite facing stiff competition from Game Changer, Fateh’s box office collection is likely to see a rise in footfalls over the weekend. The film’s success is crucial for Sonu Sood, who has not only directed but also acted in the film.
Fateh is a gripping tale of courage, resilience, and the fight against cybercrime, based on real-life instances experienced by people during the COVID-19 pandemic. The film also stars Vijay Raaz and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles.
Interestingly, Sonu Sood had earlier announced that he would be donating the entire profits generated by the film to charity. He had also priced tickets at just Rs 99 for the first day to make the film accessible to everyone.
Fateh, produced by Shakti Sagar Productions and Zee Studios, has brought together a team of international professionals to enhance its cinematic experience. Notably, the film’s cinematography has been handled by Vincenzo Condorelli, a seasoned Italian cinematographer.
The action sequences in Fateh have been choreographed by Lee Whittaker, a renowned action choreographer from Hollywood. Whittaker’s has earlier worked on the Fast and Furious, MCU, and Jurassic Park franchises.
