Filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan is back with another vlog with her cook Dilip. This time, she visited actor Shruti Haasan‘s Mumbai house. In the video, Farah recalled approaching her father, legendary actor Kamal Haasan, for Suniel Shetty’s character Raghavan Datta in her film Main Hoon Na. During the vlog, Shruti also opened up about her upcoming movie Coolie, and revealed learning how to cook in the US, due to high cost of Indian foods.
After welcoming them to her house, Shruti joked and shared that people aren’t able to understand the theme of her house. “You know what everyone says? Itna paisa kamaaya, paint bhi nahi lagaaya usne (she earned so much money, but didn’t paint the house).” “I love the industrial feel, I love it,” Farah reaffirmed, while handing over a tiffin full of mutton gravy dish to her.

While chatting later, the filmmaker revealed that the actor’s father Kamal Haasan was the first choice for her famous 2004 film Main Hoon Na. “Vo first choice the, you know the story of not? He was supposed to play, but then Suniel Shetty played the role. I have gone to your Chennai office. I narrated it to him, but then he very politely asked me to **ck off from there.”
While exploring the living area, the Tees Maar Khan director asked her about the story behind a black knife kept in the showcase. “My dad gifted this to me, a chaaku. He collects chaakus,” Shruti shared. “Trust your dad to…ofcourse. Kamal sir aur kya hi desakte the. So nice, beautiful,” Farah responded.
When Farah Khan asked if she cooks food, the actor recalled her time in the US earlier and revealed, “I love cooking. Especially since I went to America and I started missing Indian food. Idli costs $20 there. I was like, ‘I’ll learn, no problem’. Both my parents are really grounded.”
Shruti also asked Farah whether Dilip gets anything extra for his work in YouTube videos, “Does Dilip get extra royalty or extra fees for YouTube videos?” Without revealing much detail, the filmmaker replies, “Yes, he gets a lot… more than everyone here put together.” Shruti then explained her concern, “We were just worried about Dilip,” to which Farah said, “Don’t be worried about him, be worried about me.”
Towards the end of the vlog, Shruti Haasan spoke about her film Coolie, which stars an ensemble cast, including superstar Rajinikanth. “I am very excited. I didn’t know that it is going to come to me. The director Lokesh came to me, as I was going to cast him in my music video. So, I called him for work and he did ulta and offered me Coolie.”
Meanwhile, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, Coolie is set to hit the big screen on August 14. The film features Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Aamir Khan.
