When Esha Deol and her half-brothers Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol posed together for the media at Gadar 2’s screening, they weren’t expecting the pictures to go viral, with fans hailing the Deol siblings. In a new interview, Esha talked about the immense love the Deol siblings have been receiving from the audience and how its credit goes to their father and legendary actor Dharmendra.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Esha discussed the outpouring of affection they’ve experienced lately and attributed it to her father’s enduring legacy, saying, “This comes from my father. It’s his aura, his persona and we are his seeds so we are just taking it forward and the public who has that love for him gives it to us.”
Fame comes with its share of scrutiny. While the Deol siblings bask in their fans’ adoration, they also find themselves subject to endless speculation about their relationship with each other. Addressing how they are portrayed in the media, Esha said, “The media knows what the public will like and they cater to them. They are doing their job. I don’t ever take it to heart. I take it with a pinch of salt. It’s something that I am always aware of. I knew we are often spoken of. There are certain things we can talk about and there are certain things we don’t want to talk about and we will not no matter how much we are coaxed.”
Dharmendra and Hema Malini married in 1980, while he was still married to Prakash Kaur, with whom he had four children – sons Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and daughters Ajeeta Deol and Vijeta Deol. Esha Deol was born in November, 1981, and Ahana Deol in July, 1985.
On the work front, Esha was last seen in the short film Ek Duaa, which got a special mention in the category of non-feature films at the 69th National Film Awards.
