While Bollywood has fallen in love with John Abraham, Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez’s Dishoom, the audience’s reaction after the first show was mixed. Here are the social media reviews.

Dishoom, a buddy comedy starring John Abraham, Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez is making all the right noises. As the reviews started coming in from both Bollywood celebs and audiences after the first show was over, the verdict is clear: The film offers few things which are new but scores with the chemistry between the two leads — we mean John and Varun — and high action content.

Jacqueline Fernandez and Nargis Fakhri are in the film for the oomph, and oomph alone. The thriller chronicles crucial 36 hours as Varun and John go on a manhunt to find India’s top batsman who has been kidnapped hours before the country’s do-or-die match with Pakistan.

First, the good news. Bollywood celebs have been wowed by the film. Everyone from Sonam Kapoor to Arjun Kapoor to Athiya Shetty wants you to go and watch the film. Sonam took to Twitter and wrote, “Guys go see #dishoom it’s a super entertaining movie! Saw #Dishoom last night! What an entertaining film! Excited for #Rohit @Varun_dvn @Asli_Jacqueline @TheJohnAbraham @DoP_Bose @Saqibsaleem !”

Yami Gautam was all for the masala-packed entertainer too. “Dishoom makes its way literally with a bigggggg punch of entertainment !! Full on Paisa Vasool @Varun_dvn @TheJohnAbraham @Asli_Jacqueline,” she tweeted.

Director Shashank Khaitan was loving the surprise act of Dishoom — Akshay Kumar. “#Dishoom watch out for the coolest cameo by @akshaykumar … He is hilarious,” he tweeted. The first message Huma Qureshi had to give to the world today, “Wake up everyone #July29th go watch #Dishoom @Varun_dvn @TheJohnAbraham @Asli_Jacqueline @WardaNadiadwala.” (Dishoom movie review: This John Abraham, Varun Dhawan film fails to zip-zap-zoom)

Sophie Choudry, Jackky Bhagnani and Athiya Shetty also loved the action-packed, full-on entertainer. The audience’s first reactions were similar to Bollywood star too. “Must watch the movie #Dishoom. @Varun_dvn character junaid ansari is so good. Great movie 5 star to varun and john Abraham,” Aftab Sandhi wrote.

Another Twitter user, Bobby Talks Cinema, was underwhelmed, “#DISHOOM – At interval its one of the weakest and weirdest film among the biggies released this year with continuing absurdities.”

Sanaya Kakkar, another tweeple, also found the movie, “a waste of money.”
