Bollywood actor Disha Patani, who made her debut in the film industry with MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, opposite late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, recently celebrated the film’s seven-year anniversary. Also starring Kiara Advani, the film was a massive blockbuster and is still fondly remembered for the performances of the lead actors.
Sharing a clip from the film, Disha remembered Sushant, who died by suicide in 2020, and wished he is in a “happy” place now. She wrote in the caption, “Grateful for this beautiful journey and my first film in Hindi cinema. Love wholeheartedly and cherish the ones who make you happy safe and heart. life’s too short for regrets! We couldn’t say goodbye but I hope you’re happy and at peace.”
Disha also shared a still from the movie on her Instagram stories. In it, she and Sushant are looking into each other’s eyes and smiling ear-to-ear. Along with the photo, she wrote, “Where my journey started, grateful for all the love and acceptance. Sushant, I hope you are happy and in peace.”
Helmed by Neeraj Pandey, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is based on the life of former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sushant essayed the titular role of Dhoni in the film and it was considered one of his career-defining roles. Dhoni had also praised Sushant for the way he managed to get into the skin of the character. During one of his interviews, Sushant had shared his feeling on the film saying, “There was more excitement than pressure. In 2006, my family had reached out to MS Dhoni and I had clicked a picture with him. There are films where you end up being a very good actor but there are very rare films where you end up being a very good human being.”
Bollywood celebrities reacted to Disha’s post in the comment section. Anil Kapoor wrote, “Phenomenal scene, both of you are so good.” Mouni Roy said, “You were the embodiment of love in this film. So so brilliant. Loved you. Onwards & upwards… always cheering the loudest for you.” Aparshakti Khurrana said, “Deeeeee, I have picture-perfect memory of this scene.”
On the work front, Disha was last seen in the film, Ek Villain Returns, opposite Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham.
