In its fifth week—when most films lose steam—Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continues to mint moolah at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 2.7 crore on its fifth Wednesday in the theatres, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 570.65 crore. The worldwide collection now stands at Rs 767.25 crore.
Chhaava has emerged as the highest-grossing film of 2025. The film earned Rs 219.25 crore in its first week, followed by Rs 180.25 crore in the second, Rs 84.05 crore in the third, and Rs 55.95 crore in the fourth. Even after four weeks in the cinemas, the film started its fifth week with earning Rs 7.25 crore. It maintained strong momentum over the weekend, collecting around Rs 8 crore on both Saturday and Sunday. However, Monday saw a decline, with earnings dropping to Rs 2.65 crore, and since then, the film’s daily earnings have hovered around similar figures.
The film also faced controversy when Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis blamed Chhaava for inciting recent violence in Nagpur. He stated, “Chhaava has ignited people’s anger against Aurangzeb.” However, Vicky’s fans were quick to defend the film on social media, calling the accusations unfair.
On Wednesday, Chhaava recorded an overall 10.75 percent Hindi occupancy and 13.22 percent Telugu occupancy. Although its earnings dipped slightly on Day 34, it still outperformed several other blockbusters on their respective 34th day. For instance, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 made Rs 1.5 crore, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal collected Rs 54 lakh, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan earned Rs 82 lakh on day 34 of their release.
Meanwhile, Chhaava has maintained an upper hand over John Abraham’s The Diplomat, which released a week ago. Wednesday was no different, with The Diplomat earning Rs 1.40 crore compared to Chhaava’s Rs 2.70 crore. John’s film has so far amassed Rs 17.65 crore in domestic collections. It seems like the Chhaava will have come competition after the release of Salman Khan’s Sikandar on March 30.
