The second day of the ongoing Cannes Film Festival was an eventful one for the Indian contingent. Actors Sara Ali Khan and Urvashi Rautela made new red carpet appearances, while actor Mrunal Thakur made a stylish debut at the prestigious film festival. Cannes fixture Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is expected to walk the red carpet today.
Minister L Murugan inaugurated The India Pavilion, and Sara started her day by attending this event. In a video, she spoke about how proud she is to be representing India at the festival.
Director Madhur Bhandarkar shared more photos from the event. Posing with Sara, actor Vijay Varma, Oscar-winner Guneet Monga, politician-actor Kushboo Sundar, actor Esha Gupta, among others, and wrote in an Instagram post, “At the Indian Pavilion inauguration in @festivaldecannes 2023. It was a momentous occasion in the presence of Hon’ble MOS @murugan_tnbjp ji and other distinguished Dignatries & Film Industry Colleagues. Was honoured to speak on the Indian Film Industry and its progress on global platform. Later in the day, Sara walked the red carpet for the second time, and once again, her outfit had an Indian touch. Her outfit was designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. She wore a matching pearl recheck. Sharing her look, the actor wrote, “I guess you Cannes do it again.”

On the other hand, actor Mrunal Thakur made her debut at the prestigious festival this year. She wore a stylish black lace pantsuit complemented by a dazzling sequined jacket. Sharing the photos, the actor wrote in an Instagram post, “I didn’t come this far to only come this far. #YesICannes. Ready to take on the @festivaldecannes experience. Join me on this glamorous little journey #StayTuned.”
