Adipurush box office collection Day 15: After struggling at the box office for two weeks, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon's epic is running on fumes.

With Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s Satyaprem Ki Katha hitting screens this week, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush tanked further at the box office. On Friday, the big-budget epic earned under Rs 1 crore across India, as the curtain closes on its release. According to film trade tracking website bollymoviereviewz, on its 15th day in theatres, Om Raut’s film has earned under Rs 50 lakh in the Hindi belt, taking its domestic collection to Rs 282 crore.

The film was released in cinemas on June 16 in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam. However, with no chance of recovering its reported Rs 500 crore-plus budget theatrically, Adipurush marks Prabhas’ third consecutive flop. Prabhas last experienced super success with his two Baahubali films, directed by SS Rajamouli, but his two follow-ups, Saaho and Radhe Shyam, were box office disasters.

While Prabhas’ portrayal of Lord Rama in Adipurush, an adaptation of the Ramayana, received mixed response, the film also attracted criticism for Hanuman’s dialogues clunky VFX. After the initial round of criticism, it was decided by the producers to alter the objectionable dialogues, and reduce the ticket prices drastically.

On the first day of release, Adipurush had grossed a spectacular Rs 140 crore worldwide. However, its earnings refused to pick up as the week progressed. Apart from Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, Adipurush also stars Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Lakshman, Devdatta Nage as Lord Hanuman.

Prabhas will next be seen in Nag Ashwin’s Project K with Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. He will also star in Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel.
