Actor Bobby Deol is humbled by the praise coming his way for his performance in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. Crediting his successful return to prominence to wife Tanya, the actor called himself ‘broad-minded’ for never forcing her to stop working. In an interview, he also said that he didn’t want to repeat the same mistakes as his father.

In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Bobby shared how his relationship with sons Aryaman and Dharam is different from the one he had with his father, Dharmendra, during the formative years. “When I was growing up, it was a different scenario all together,” said Bobby, adding, “There was respect that you had to keep for your parents. You cannot go beyond certain things. With your mothers, you can still fight, still argue. Mothers are made like that, but fathers ke saath always jhijhak (hesitation) rehti thi.”

Bobby continued, “I saw that it didn’t happen with me and my kids, and its not my dad’s fault because he grew up in the same environment, but I am a very broad-minded person. I never stopped my wife from working, or subdue her, or make her feel less about herself. I am what I am because of my wife.”

Getting the emotional during the interview, the actor, the younger brother of Gadar 2 star Sunny Deol, added, “It’s just that I am blessed.”

Besides Tanya, Bobby’s elder son Aryaman also attended multiple promotional events along with Bobby. So much so, at the music album launch of the film, the youngest Deol caught paparazzi’s attention and briefly became internet’s obsession. However, Bobby had earlier revealed that his sons don’t like being in the limelight.

Bobby had shared during an interview with Hindustan Times, “They are not special. They are normal, they might be my kids, (but) I don’t want them to be carried away with glamour because it can take you away from things. That is why we (Deols) are like that. I was brought up that way. (Also) Boys are shy (and) they don’t want to be clicked (by the paps).”
