Bobby Deol, who is all set to appear in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, said at the trailer launch of the film that he landed the role here because of his ‘bekaari ke din (jobless days)’. Bobby’s character has been kept under wraps but the actor shared that when he got a call from Sandeep for this film, his career wasn’t in a ‘good condition’.

Bobby shared, “The condition of my career was such that I never thought that I would get such a great role.” Bobby recalled that when he got a call from Sandeep for Animal, the director showed him a random photo of his from the time when he was playing Celebrity Cricket League. It was this photo that convinced Sandeep that Bobby would be right for the part.

“Sandeep showed me photo of mine from the time I was playing Celebrity Cricket League, I wasn’t working much at the time. In the photo, I was looking away in the horizon. He said I want to cast you because of this expression. This is what I want for the film ‘I said chalo bekaari ke din kaam aa gaye‘ (my jobless days worked for me),” Bobby recalled.

Bobby also spoke about working with Ranbir Kapoor and said that he was “lost in his eyes” because he is so “mesmerising.” “I have worked with may stars in this industry but I’ve never seen anyone who is so humble, so down to earth. When I was working with him, I would just get lost in his eyes. He was so mesmerising as an actor,” he shared.

Bobby had previously shared a photo from the making of the film with Ranbir and shared in the caption, “In between cuts and action discussing our family and loved ones keeping us warm in the cold mornings of London ❤️.”

Animal releases in theatres on December 1.
