Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again hit the big screen on November 1 to coincide with the festive period. Both the film’s collective box office collection created history with a total earning of Rs 79 crore India net on the opening day. While Kartik Aaryan’s film opened to Rs 35.5 crore, Singham Again earned Rs 43.5 crore on its first day. Now, a week later, it seems like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is ahead in the race as the Anees Bazmee directorial film earned Rs 9 crore on second Friday, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Again earned Rs 7.45 crore on its eighth day.
According to Sacnilk, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 witnessed an overall occupancy of 20.75% with around 4100 shows across India. The film, reportedly made on a budget of Rs 150 crore, has earned a total of Rs 167.25 crore India net. However, according to the makers, the film had earned Rs 168.86 crore in just seven days of release with a collection of Rs 12.21 crore on its seventh day, domestically.
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again which stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor has earned a total of Rs 180 crore in eight days of its release in India. The film is said to be made on a budget of Rs 350 crores. The makers had shared that film had successfully earned Rs 125 crore India net in its first weekend. They are yet to share the details for week one collection.
Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the third installment in the famous horror-comedy franchise, also stars Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Sanjay Mishra, and Vijay Raaz, among others. The horror-comedy has managed to give a tough competition to the Rohit Shetty film despite having lesser shows at the time of its release, compared to the high-in-action film. The screens were divided in 60:40 ratio.
