Bawaal teaser: Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor fight for love, a surprise ending leaves fans shocked

The first teaser of Varun Dhawan and Jahnvi Kapoor's Bawaal has left fans impressed and curious. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film will have a direct to digital release on Prime Video.

The first teaser of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Bawaal dropped on Wednesday. The short video gives a glimpse of the love story between the lead couple and how they fight for love. Towards the end, we also see them fighting for their lives amid a genocide-like setting, which has piqued the curiousity of fans. The film, as readers may know is a love story with World War 2 in the backdrop. Set in the heartland of India, the film’s gripping narrative will also take the audience on a never-seen-before journey through Europe.

The teaser opens with Varun’s character Ajay lovingly staring at Janhvi’s Nisha as they shop. The audience is soon taken through multiple visual instances where Ajay seems completely in love but Nisha is reluctant. The soothing voice of Arijit Singh singing, “Tum pyaar karne dete toh tumhe kitna pyaar karte,” encapsulates the couple’s relationship. Janhvi’s character also mentions how she took too much time to understand what they share, and now that she has, it’s time to break apart. Towards the end, we also see Nisha and Ajay gasping for breath as they are locked in a gas chamber by an officer, hinting at them being victims of the Holocaust.

The teaser not only impressed the audience but also left them curious. Some of the comments on the video read, “The ending was unexpected but overall I am excited for Bawaal 🔥😍,” “This movie is going to do history in ott .original content with something differnt. Bawaal has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari and bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari’s Earthsky Pictures. The film was earlier supposed to drop in cinema halls in October this year, however, makers recently announced that it will have a direct-to-digital release on Amazon Prime Video.

Talking about the romantic comedy, director Nitesh Tiwari, earlier said in a statement, “Shot across three Indian locations and five European countries, Bawaal has a captivating storyline, dramatic visuals and absolutely amazing chemistry between the lead talent Varun and Jahnvi. I believe that the worldwide premiere on Prime Video will help us take Bawaal to audiences in India and across borders. Bawaal will drop on Prime Video on July 21.
