Rapper and music icon Badshah took to Instagram today, sharing two photos of himself sporting an eye patch along with a tongue-in-cheek caption: “Avtar ji ka mukka hit karta hai jaise.” The post was a playful nod to his cameo in The Ba***ds of Bollywood, the newly released Netflix series directed by Aryan Khan. In the show, Badshah appears briefly in a scene where his character ends up in a physical confrontation with Avtar, portrayed by veteran actor Manoj Pahwa. The clash culminates in a dramatic punch to the eye during a boxing ring sequence.
Though the caption struck a light-hearted tone, the situation behind the eye patch is more serious. According to a Hindustan Times report, Badshah sustained a real eye injury during the final show of his North America tour. Something entered his eye at the beginning of the set. Despite the discomfort, he continued to perform. Upon returning to India, a doctor diagnosed him with a corneal abrasion after noticing his constant eye irritation. He later underwent a minor surgical procedure and was advised to wear an eye patch for five days.
The incident marked an unexpected end to what has been a record-breaking tour for the artist. The Unfinished Tour raked in over $6 million in ticket sales and drew more than 45,000 fans across sold-out venues in New Jersey, Virginia, Oakland, Seattle, Dallas, and Chicago. The production itself was reportedly worth $2 million, underscoring the scale and ambition of the tour.
Meanwhile, Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, continues to dominate Netflix globally. Produced under Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and co-created by Bilal Siddiqui and Manav Chauhan, the show has sparked viral trends across social media, with memes and reels flooding the internet.
