Ba***ds of Bollywood’s Manish Chaudhari aka Freddy Sodawallah’s wife is 17 years younger than him, took her 2 years to convince her family

Manish Chaudhari, who was recently seen in Aryan Khan’s web series The Ba***ds of Bollywood as Freddy Sodawallah, has been in the movies since the early 2000s. During a recent interview, Manish and his wife Shruti Mishra spoke about their unconventional love story as the two have an age gap of 17 years. For Manish, the age gap didn’t matter but for Shruti, it took her two years to convince her parents to bless their union. The couple got married in 2023.

In a chat with Hauterrfly, Shruti recalled her first meeting with Manish in a theatre. “I was very happy to meet someone in Mumbai who was on the same wavelength as me. Right from very early on, I used to say I love you a lot. Shruti took a little longer to say it to me,” he said. Talking about their age gap, Shruti shared, “We have a 17 year age gap. I think when I asked him, ‘How old are you?’, and then he told me, I was like ‘Really?’ I knew there was an age gap but I didn’t know how much.” Manish added, “Age never really bothered me.”

Shruti Mishra said that despite the age gap, they knew they were in it for the long haul. “I think one of the first conversations Manish and I had was like, ‘Listen, I don’t know about the age gap but I think we have to live together for a very long time and I don’t care about the age gap, you have to live longer than me because I am not going to be without you for even a day so I am going to go first and you are going to stay on,’” she shared.

Shruti shared that it took her two years to convince her family. “It took me a few years to convince my family that this is the man I am going to marry, or I am not going to get married. It took almost two years to convince everyone calmly,” she said. They also spoke about the proposal as Shruti shared that it was the most “chilled out proposal.”

“During covid, we were sitting on a couch and he asked, ‘Will you marry me?’ I was like, ‘Is that a proposal?’ He said yes, and I said okay. I think we could top the charts for the most casual chilled out proposal you could ever have,” she shared.

Manish Chaudhari had previously gotten engaged in 2016, but that relationship did not end in marriage. The actor and Shruti got married when he was 54, and she was 37.
