Bade Miyan Chote Miyan vs Maidaan: Akshay Kumar’s film sprints ahead with 9000 tickets sold, both Eid releases to now come out on Apr 11

Eid releases Bade Miyan Chota Miyan and Maidaan are witnessing a great response as their booking opened on Saturday. However, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff‘s film seems to have taken the lead from the Ajay Devgn starrer in terms of ticket sales. As per industry tracker Sacnilk.com, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has sold more than 9000 tickets, the film is expected to have more than 3000 shows in India. Maidaan, on the other hand, has sold more than 6000 tickets and is said to have more than 2700 shows.

With the advance bookings, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s advance collections have amounted to close to Rs 30 lakhs, while Maidaan’s advance sales have crossed Rs 20 lakhs approximately. With this, a latest report in Bollywood Hungama states that now both the film’s will release on 11th April and the makers will only keep paid previews on the 10th April. Earlier both the films were supposed to release on 10th April, but just a few days before the release the makers seemed to have changed the dates, the reason being that Eid will be celebrated in India on Thursday, 11th April.

All the shows for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan will now play from 6 pm onwards on 10th. As per the report, the tickets booked for shows before 6 pm on 10th April would be refunded and the Eid holiday on 11th April would be considered as the film’s release day.

Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has been passed with no cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification and has a run time of 3 hours and 1 minute. As for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the CBFC had directed the makers to make a few modifications and the film’s run time was also reducced to 2 hours 44 minutes. Further to this, it was reported by Bollywood Hungama that the makers would make the film even crisper and cut out 8 minutes from it. With that, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s run time is now 2 hours 35 minutes.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment, the film also stars Alaya F, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Manushi Chhillar in important roles. Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Zee Studios, it also stars Priyamani in an important role.
