Ayushmann Khurrana, brother Aparshakti bid an emotional adieu to late father, as they shoulder his bier at funeral

Reportedly, Ayushmann and Aparshakti’s father passed away on Friday at a Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where he was admitted due to a heart ailment. At the funeral, Ayushmann and Aparshakti were seen shouldering their father’s bier.

Ayushmann and Aparshakti were by their father’s side in his final moments. Ayushmann, along with his family, had travelled to Chandigarh with great anticipation to accept the Kalagrihi award in the presence of his family. Ayushmann was to also receive a prestigious award from Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar at his alma mater, Panjab University.

A statement from a spokesperson read, “It’s with our deep sadness to inform that Ayushmann and Aparshakti Khurana’s father, Astrologer P Khurana passed away this morning at 10:30am in Mohali, owing to a prolonged incurable ailment. We are indebted for all your prayers and support during this time of personal loss.”

Ayushmann’s friends and colleagues from the fraternity took to their social media platforms to offer condolences. Kajol tweeted, “Deepest condolences to @ayushmannk for his loss. 🙏🏼 Parents are parents and their loss is always felt on the deepest level.,” Ajay Devgn wrote, “My thoughts and prayers to @ayushmannk
and family. Wishing strength and solace during this difficult time. 🕉️ Shanti.”
