Aryan Khan’s much-awaited series B****ds of Bollywood has finally dropped on Netflix, and it’s already making noise for its sharp, satirical take on the industry. With references to real-life incidents, cheeky cameos, and tongue-in-cheek humour, the show doesn’t hold back. Among the highlights: a Sameer Wankhede look-alike waging a “war on drugs,” and appearances from A-list names like Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar.
In the very first episode, Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar are seen at the success party of Aasmaan’s (Lakshya) debut film Revolver. On the red carpet, Ranveer—dressed in his trademark eccentric outfit—limps dramatically towards Karan. “Give me a hand,” he says before greeting him. Karan, taken aback, asks, “Ranveer, I hope this is one of your crazy fashion looks.”
Ranveer replies, “I wish, man. But it’s a legit fracture. I’m in so much f*****g pain, I can’t tell you.” Karan’s ruthless side comes out instantly: “F** your pain! We are starting the shoot next month.” Ranveer shoots back, “I’m out for a good six months.”
Tempers flare. Karan snaps, “Don’t f** with me, Ranveer. My movie saved your f****g career.” Ranveer retorts, “My performance saved your f*****g movie.” The exchange ends with Karan hurling, “F** you, Ranveer,” to which the actor smirks back, “Love you, Karan.”
Soon after, Ranveer receives a call from none other than SS Rajamouli. Excited, he rushes to a quiet corner and answers, “Hi sir.” While Rajamouli’s voice is muted, Ranveer can be heard promising, “No sir, my dates are free for you. No, Karan’s film isn’t happening—he’s in talks with Vicky. We can start next month. That’s just a rumour, sir. My leg is perfectly fine.”
But unbeknownst to him, Raghav Juyal accidentally records him walking perfectly fine while taking the call. When Ranveer realises, he rushes to Raghav and pleads with him to delete the clip.
Raghav refuses payment for it, saying, “Bikau nahi hu mai. Pyaar se bhi bolte toh bhi kar deta. I respect you.” Ranveer still insists he keep his luxury watch, but Raghav instead removes his own watch and gifts it to Ranveer, saying, “Aap bhi yaad rakhna, asli gully boy.”
Delighted at the reference, Ranveer laughs: “Hard! Bahut hard! Good, real good! And listen—delete it from the deleted folder too. If I see it anywhere, I’ll search and delete you.” Raghav walks away, saying, “I love you baba.” Ranveer grins: “I’ve loved you since the last life. Now beat it.”
The sequence wraps up with Karan Johar coldly declaring, “Ranveer has left the film. We have to make it look like we dropped him. I don’t want any Dharma Damage. Just find me an actor who can do such a big film.”
It’s a not-so-subtle nod to the infamous Dostana 2 fallout with Kartik Aaryan.
