After the success of Aryan Khan’s The Ba***ds of Bollywood, Arshad Warsi is getting a lot of appreciation for his character Ghafoor. Arshad has become a prominent part of meme culture and social media chatter, captivating the collective imagination of netizens, all thanks to his character on the show. Speaking to Fever FM, Arshad opened up about working with Aryan Khan and shared that while he loved the character, he wasn’t entirely sure if audience would connect with it.
He shared that Aryan has a tendency to shoot the entire scene with his assistants beforehand, and he then sends the scenes across to the actor, so they know what he is thinking. He shared, “When I heard the song, I liked it. I thought it was the first time I ever heard a song that is funny, because there’s something very peculiarly funny about the song. And when he told me the scenes, I found the scenes funny. And he is very good yaar. He shoots the entire scene with his assistants, ADs, everybody in his house and then he sends it to you. It’s like him telling, ‘This is what we’re doing,’ so that you’re clear about what’s happening.”
He further added, “It’s also perhaps because this was his first outing, so he isn’t really into the habit of explaining a scene, and also it’s not a regular sort of mind that you understand. It is a little bit in the new age, cool dude space, so it takes some time for you to understand, so he used to really explain it like that and I found everything to be very funny.” Arshad shared that all the nuances of the character were written on paper and added, “It takes some time for you to understand what’s happening, but when you get it, you find it hilarious. Especially the bit that he told me that all these people go inside a fridge; there is his den beneath it. I was very impressed and was like, I need this in my house.”

The Ba***ds of Bollywood, recently released on Netflix and backed by Shah Rukh Khan’s production banner Red Chillies, has performed exceptionally well, sparking talks of a sequel.
While the second season of The Ba***ds of Bollywood is yet to be announced, Arshad recently shared with SCREEN that Munna Bhai 3 is in the works. “See, with part 3 the thing is that once it was not happening at all, but now Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) is actually working on it. He is seriously working on it, and it seems like it should happen now.”
Arshad Warsi was last seen in the film Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas.
