Archana Puran Singh tells Navjot Singh Sidhu he left Kapil Sharma’s show at ‘the right time’; Harbhajan Singh responds: ‘You don’t become Sidhu by…’

The teaser starts with Sunil Grover impersonating journalists, and reporting the return of Navjot Singh Sidhu. He said, “After a five year long gap that he has agreed to come on the show.” In a different avatar, Sunil Grover reported the same news in Hindi and said, “Isse hua duniya mein tehalka (This shook the world)”. The video then moves to Sidhu sitting in Archana’s chair, confusing the cast. Kapil says, “Sunil Paaji, you impersonate Sidhu paaji every alternative day.” Sidhu corrects him, “Oye, an motorcycle nahi car chahiye, abe audience sari keh rahi hai ab sardar chahiye.”

In the video, Sidhu too can be seen saying shayaris in his signature style. He said, “Ab motorcyle nahi, car chahiye… Abe audience saari keh rahi hai ab sardar chahiye (Audience needs the sardar back).” Archana Puran Singh then jokes, “Main hamesha aapko duaein deti hu ke aap sahi waqt pe yahan se nikal gaye (I always bless you that you left the show at the right time).”

To this, Harbhajan Singh replies, “Duniya kuch bhi kahe, par kisi ke kehne pe koi buddhu nahi ban jata, kursi par koi baith jaye, par koi Sidhu nahi ban jata. (Just sitting on that chair can’t make you Sidhu).”

The teaser also shows fun banter between the cricketers and their wives with show’s other characters like Sunil Grover pulling a prank on Archana Puran Singh.

Navjot Singh Sidhu left the show after facing severe backlash from netizens for his comment on the Pulwama Attack in 2019. Speaking to media, the Congress leader had then said, “It (the terror attack) is a cowardly and dastardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished. For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual?”

He was replaced by Archana Puran Singh in the show, who has been part of Kapil’s team for the past five years. It is unclear if Navjot Singh Sidhu will make a permanent return to the show.
