Anupam Kher condemns rumours surrounding Satish Kaushik’s death, pens emotional goodbye note: ‘Ja, tujhe maaf kiya’

Actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away on March 9 after suffering a heart attack in New Delhi. His longtime friend, Anupam Kher, the late actor’s jovial nature at a prayer meet on Monday, March 20, in Mumbai.

Outside Satish‘s residence in Mumbai, where the prayer meet was held, a few members of the press asked Anupam to say a few words about his friend. Anupam shared that he was “trying to find a photo of Satish in which he’s not smiling,” but he failed to do so. Later on, Anupam also addressed some of the unsavoury rumours being shared about the cause of Satish’s death, and said, “I think we should give the man a dignified exit and not make these speculations, because he lived a dignified life. He needs a dignified exit. All these rumours should end today with this pooja. Thank you.”

Satish’s wife Shashi, and their 10-year-old daughter Vanshika were present at the prayer meet. Anupam was seen holding Vanshika’s hand as the rest of the family greeted guests with folded hands.

Many of Satish’s colleagues from the film and television industry attended the prayer meet. Actors such as Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Pankaj Kapur, Supriya Pathak, Moushumi Chatterjee, Tanvi Azmi, Padmini Kolhapure, Maniesh Paul, Gulshan Grover, filmmakers Boney Kapoor, Ramesh Taurani, David Dhawan, Abbas-Mustan, Vivek Agnihotri, and veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar, among others, were in attendance.

Later in the day, Anupam took to his social media platforms to pen an emotional note for his friend, bidding him a final goodbye. He also shared a slow motion video of himself offering flowers in front of Satish’s portrait, and wrote, “Ja! Tujhe maaf kiya! Mujhe akela chhod kar jaane ke liya. I will surely find you in people’s laughter! But will miss our friendship on day to day!! Good bye my friend! Tera favourite gana lagaya hai background mein! Tu bhi kya yaad karega ❤️💔🕉❤️ #SatishKaushik #Friend #ओमशांति.”
