Actor-comedian Sunil Grover had a heart attack earlier this year and when he was in the hospital, his brother Anil Grover was facing a huge dilemma. In a recent interview, Anil shared that on the day of Sunil’s operation, he was supposed to be in a sitting with Shah Rukh Khan at his house Mannat and it was a “very difficult day” for him. Anil said that he was feeling “very torn” but once Sunil gave his blessings, Anil felt more confident and got through that day.
In a chat with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, Anil shared, “On January 27, he (Sunil Grover) was going to get operated and that was the day we had our second sitting with Shah Rukh sir. So I was feeling very torn in that moment. That situation was very tricky for me. That was a very difficult day for me.” Anil said that it was his second meeting with Shah Rukh but before he went inside Mannat, he spoke to his brother who gave him the courage to go ahead and focus on the script reading session rather than worry about him. “The last message I had sent was to bhaiya only that I am going there and he gave his wishes and blessings. It took me a while to decide if I should go or not. Finally, I spoke to him and he gave me some courage. Then, I went in,” he shared.
When asked if director Rajkumar Hirani or Shah Rukh Khan knew about Sunil Grover’s health, Anil Grover said that no one knew anything. “No one knew. I didn’t tell. I don’t know why but I did not,” he said and added, “I can’t even recollect what I was exactly going through but it was a difficult time definitely.” Anil said that they might have felt that I was nervous or uncomfortable, but they did not know the actual reason behind his discomfort.
Sunil Grover also recently shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in the year’s biggest hit Jawan.
