Days after rumours surfaced that beloved power couple Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma had broken up, the two stars attended Bollywood icon Raveena Tandon’s Holi party on Friday. Photos and videos of them from the celebration have since gone viral on social media. However, not only were they never seen together during the event, but they also arrived separately, further intensifying speculation about their split.
While Tamannaah opted for a white tube top, olive green cargo pants and a plain white shirt as a jacket, Vijay arrived sporting a white T-shirt, jeans and stylish sunglasses. At the time of Tamannaah’s arrival, photographers were present outside Tandon’s residence and she cheerfully extended Holi wishes to everyone, while even pausing to pet some dogs in the area. Vijay, on the other hand, arrived with his t-shirt already covered in festive colours. He, too, appeared in high spirits, warmly greeting the paparazzi. Before heading inside, he playfully smeared colours on some of the photographers, embracing the celebratory mood.
One of Bollywood’s most adored couples, Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma had always been open about their relationship. They confirmed their romance around the release of Lust Stories 2 in 2023, which also marked their first on-screen collaboration. Opening up about their decision to not keep their romance under wraps, Vijay told Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel last year, “I think we were both aligned on the fact that if we like to spend time together and if we like each other, then there is no need to hide this. It takes a lot of effort to hide a relationship. You cannot go out together, your friends cannot click your photos. I don’t like such restrictions. It wasn’t like I wanted to be out there, but I just didn’t want to be caged. I didn’t want to cage my feelings.”
Calling Vijay Varma her “happy place”, Tamannaah Bhatia once told Film Companion: “He is someone with who I bonded very organically. He is someone who really came to me with all his guard down, then it became really easy for me to let all my guard down. With high-achieving women, we have this one problem. we think we need to do hard work for everything. You don’t have to walk on eggshells. To just be yourself. It is friendship that is such a crucial part of someone you can laugh with. Someone you can laugh with about anything like the loudest volume, where you sound like different…animals. He is a person whom I care about deeply.”
For the past few weeks, speculation about their breakup has been making the rounds, though neither has addressed the rumours yet. Now, their arrival at a Holi party, and that too separately, has sent the rumour mill into overdrive — with some believing this is a sign that they are still together, while others see it as further evidence that they have parted ways.
