Filmmaker, comedian and lyricist Varun Grover has opened up about working with actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt. Varun heaped praise on Alia for her hardworking nature and also commended her choice of roles right from the start of her career. Varun hasn’t met Salman Khan yet, and he thinks Salman might be more like a character from artificial intelligence than a real person, especially since he doesn’t seem to exist outside of the screen.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Varun said that he is a part of Vasan Bala’s Jigra, starring Alia. He said, “Alia Bhatt is amazing. She has very fine knowledge about her characters and she is also very hardworking. The choice of her roles are also amazing. Her second film itself was Highway.”
He continued, “The people who get chances or the people who have power, which Alia Bhatt had, she could have only done ‘sure shot roles.’ But she also did Udta Punjab, she also did Highway. She is also very intelligent when it comes to selecting roles.”
Varun said that he has met Shah Rukh and has penned lyrics for films like Fan and Dunki. However, when asked about Salman he said, “I cannot see my world merging with Salman Khan’s world, the kind of films I want to do. With Shah Rukh Khan, even if I would have not met him, I know that he is there and he is real. But with Salman, I feel that he is only on the screen and maybe he doesn’t exist in the real world, like he is a character made by AI and he is just on screen. Maybe when I see him in real life this illusion might shatter, but still it would be hard for me to believe that he exists outside of the screen.”
Varun Grover made his directorial debut with ‘All India Rank‘.
