Bollywood star Alia Bhatt recently opened up about motherhood, her and actor Ranbir Kapoor’s baby Raha Bhatt Kapoor, and her acting journey.

Speaking to Bazaar India, Alia said that the questions men and women get asked after becoming parents are drastically different from each other.

“You would never ask a man a question about whether having a baby at the peak of his career was a brave decision. I’m being asked, ‘Are you willing to cut your pace down because you’re having a family?’ But to me, that’s okay. Maybe after working for 10 years at a certain pace, I felt that, okay, maybe I can cut that down and be a mum. I feel like it was very much led by love. I’ve always been that person who just does things with love. Whatever decision I make, if it feels right, I’ll do it. But if it doesn’t feel right, you’ll always see me taking 16 steps back. I could be offered the biggest movie, the biggest team, but if it doesn’t feel right, I wouldn’t be able to take that step forward. So [having a baby] was just purely nominated by that. And I don’t even think there was a question. It was just a very happy, natural decision,” the actor stated.

During the conversation, Alia Bhatt also revealed the best thing that happened to her this week. She said daughter Raha touching her face was not only the highlight of her week, but of her entire life. “My daughter started touching my face. I think that’s the best thing that’s happened to me this past week. Because now when I’m feeding her, she just takes a minute, looks up at me and starts touching my face. It’s like a romantic moment between the two of us. And it’s literally the best thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.”

On the work front, Alia is looking forward to the release of the Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, with Ranveer Singh. She also has her debut Hollywood film Heart of Stone in the pipeline.
