Akshay Kumar calls Twinkle Khanna ‘trophy wife’ after she bags award for her book: ‘She earns her own accolades’

Akshay Kumar lauded Twinkle Khanna for wining an award.

Earlier, Twinkle Khanna shared a video of herself receiving the prestigious award, along with a photo of the trophy placed on a table at her house next to her book. Her pet dog, Mr Jeeves, could be seen sitting next to the trophy. In the post, Twinkle also shared a hilarious anecdote about how her celebration turned into a bit of a fiasco when Mr Jeeves ate the chocolate cake that was part of her celebration hamper.

She wrote, “Last night, Welcome to Paradise won the Crossword Book Award 2024 in the Popular Fiction category and I decided to celebrate. Among the goodies in one of the hampers was a chocolate cake. I sliced a piece, left it on the coffee table, and when I came back—Mr. Jeeves, had consumed it. This led to a midnight dash to the vet to get my ‘celebration’ pumped out of his stomach. These things only happen to me, which is why I’ll never run out of stories. Mr. Jeeves is a little tired but fine, and so am I.”

Twinkle Khanna’s career took a turn since her marriage to Akshay Kumar in 2001, when she decided to step away from acting, admitting she no longer enjoyed the profession. Since then, she has become a successful author, with Welcome to Paradise and Pyjamas Are Forgiving being among her popular books. Last year, she completed her Master’s degree in fiction writing at Goldsmiths, University of London, marking another milestone in her career.
