Aishwarya walked the red carpet at the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola’s film Megalopolis in a black and white outfit with gold detailing. The outfit was designed by Falguni Shane Peacock.

Aishwarya has been a regular at the Cannes Film Festival since 2002. She first attended the festival with Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the premiere of their film, Devdas. In the last few years, Aishwarya has attended the festival as a part of her brand commitment with L’Oreal. Aaradhya, too, has been accompanying her mother to Cannes for a few years now.

In an earlier interview, fashion designer Neeta Lulla, who designed Aishwarya’s outfits for her first few Cannes appearances, recalled that the actor walked the red carpet with fractured foot back in 2003. At the time, the fashion police attacked Aishwarya’s outfits. “There were some 47 outfits that went with her for the whole festival. Day wear, afternoon wear, evening wear, red carpet wear. Somewhere, I guess what happened was possibly time, possibly because of different collaborations, jewellery had to be changed. I really don’t know what happened there,” recalled Neeta in a chat with Bollywood Hungama. Neeta later designed the kanjeevaram saree that Aishwarya wore for her wedding in 2007.

This year, Aishwarya will be joined by fellow Indian actors Kiara Advani, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aditi Rao Hydari at the film festival.
