Aamir Khan’s brother Faissal Khan has made headlines for his public statement once again. Days after the actor and his family reacted to Faissal’s remark in a recent podcast show, calling it ‘misleading’, he has announced to cut his ties with brother and his family. He shared the news in his latest Instagram post, mentioning a ‘new chapter of freedom’. In an interview earlier, Faissal had claimed that Aamir locked him up for over a year in his house in Mumbai. After this statement, Aamir and his family released an official statement talking about his ‘hurtful’ remarks and how all decisions were taken together by the family based on medical advice.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Faissal wrote in a post, “With a heavy heart yet renewed courage, I wish to share that I have severed all family ties, as declared through a public notice. This step, though difficult, is essential for my healing and growth. Life now enters a new chapter of freedom, dignity, and self-discovery one that I embrace with positivity, truth, and strength.”

What happened between Faissal Khan and his family?

During an interview with Pinkvilla, Faissal said, “Mujhe qaid kar ke rakha tha ghar mein ek saal (I was imprisoned at home for over a year) and they were saying I’ve got schizophrenia and I’m a mad person and I will harm society. JJ Hospital mein mujhe 20 din rakha gaya, test kiya gaya, general ward mein, mental logon ke saath (I was at JJ Hospital for 20 days, was tested in general ward, with ‘mental’ people).”

Aamir helped Faissal with his career and monetarily too. After Faissal’s debut Madhosh flopped, Aamir co-produced Mela that starred both the brothers. However, the film tanked at the box office. Because of Faissal’s personal issues, he finally started living in the Pali Hill complex where Aamir and his family live. He also paid a monthly allowance to his brother.

After his comments went viral, Aamir Khan and his family issued an official statement, which read, “We are distressed by Faisal’s hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir. As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it necessary to clarify our intentions, and reaffirm our solidarity as a family.”
