Celebrated director-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is commemorating 45 years of his production house, Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films, in a grand style. To mark this momentous occasion, the filmmaker has announced a special treat for fans: his iconic films 3 Idiots and Parinda will return to theaters from October 13 to October 19.
Adding to the excitement, Chopra also revealed that two of his notable films, Sazaye Maut and Khamosh, will be screened for the first time ever. He shared this exciting news on his production house’s official Twitter handle, writing, “As Vinod Chopra Films completes 45 years of storytelling in cinema, we bring back the magic to the big screens! From the 13th to the 19th of October iconic hits like 3 Idiots and Parinda will hit the theatres again. Some cult classics like Sazaye Maut and Khamosh will be screened for the first time ever! @_PVRCinemas @INOXMovies #FilmHeritageFoundation.”
Among the films to be screened, 3 Idiots is the most recent. Released in 2009, the film was a massive box office hit and received widespread critical acclaim. Starring Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi in lead roles, it achieved classic status and enjoyed tremendous success in East Asian markets, particularly China and Japan. In addition to the four films returning to theaters, Vidhu Vinod Chopra is renowned for his iconic works such as PK, Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Mission Kashmir.
The filmmaker is currently preparing for the release of his next film 12th Fail. The film’s recently released trailer showcased its lead, Vikrant Massey, portraying a UPSC aspirant from a small-town in India who hustles to pass the prestigious exam.
