Actress Aahana Kumra was evicted from the Ashneer Grover-hosted reality show Rise and Fall last week. Following her eviction, Aahana addressed her remarks against co-contestant Dhanashree Verma. During the show, Aahana had accused Dhanashree of repeatedly bringing up her divorce with Yuzvendra Chahal and playing the victim card. She also questioned Dhanashree’s equation with male contestants on Rise and Fall.
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Aahana said, “I think Dhanashree is still talking about her personal life on the show. Honestly, we didn’t speak for more than a week. And I didn’t know her before. When you appear on a reality show, a lot of things about your past will surface. How you present it to the world is up to you. You know what you want to speak about, and people are very careful about what they want to say on the show. She has chosen to open up about her personal life on the show.”
“When I signed up for Rise and Fall, I was very clear about two things: it was a reality show, so I wanted to play it in a dignified manner. Second, I didn’t want to discuss my personal life on the show at all. No one other than my family knows anything about my life. I am a private person. But if someone wants to talk about their personal life on the show, it’s on them. If she thinks she has gotten a platform where she can discuss her personal life and bring her part of the story out, it’s her journey. She has to understand that there are repercussions to everything,” she added.
Aahana Kumra also shared that she did not call Dhanashree Verma ‘spicy’. “Had I said anything untoward against her that they are claiming, it would have been on camera. But it’s not, which means I never said it. The makers leave no room for showing such things.”
Dhanashree Verma was earlier married to cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. The couple got divorced earlier this year.
