After a super-successful stint on Indian television with Comedy Nights With Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show, comedian-turned-actor Kapil Sharma is venturing into the OTT space to bring a similar concept. Kapil Sharma’s new show is titled The Great Indian Kapil Show and will start streaming from March 30.
In the show’s announcement video, Kapil is seen sitting with his team and brainstorming how to unveil the show’s title. Just then Sunil Grover makes a starry entry. When someone suggests that they can announce the name of their show with skywriting, Sunil advises against it, “Plane se dur hi rehte hai (let’s stay away from planes)”. Kapil and Sunil infamous rift began after a fight onboard a flight.

Kapil will be joined by Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, and Rajiv Thakur on the show. It will stream every week from 30th March. Talking about the show, Kapil Sharma said at the event, “Finding our new home at Netflix has been one of the best things to have happened to us. And like we mentioned previously as well, ‘Bas Ghar Badla Hai, Parivaar Nahi’. We are excited and all geared up to entertain our fans not just in India, but across the globe. Dil thaam ke baithiye, as we present to you, The Great Indian Kapil Show, from 30 March only on Netflix!”
The Great Indian Kapil Show is a variety chat show set in the bustling confines of an airport and features prominent celebrity guests every week. This show also marks the reunion of Kapil and Sunil after their infamous fight from 2017.
Earlier talking to us about them sorting their differences, Sunil had said, “Initially, I would get disturbed, but not anymore. I know the truth so what someone says or understands, is their problem, not mine. Those who point fingers, what is their credibility? If I need to answer something, I will do so, but usually, there is no need for an explanation. They don’t have a full understanding of the matter, no facts, they are just saying something because it’s their job. Writing negative things grabs more attention. They will all understand eventually.”
