After breaking numerous box office records with Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas is set to return to the big screen in director Maruthi’s The Raja Saab. The makers of the film, which is being described as a romantic horror comedy, unveiled the poster on the actor’s birthday this Wednesday.

The poster features Prabhas in a striking new avatar, portraying an aged king sitting on a spooky throne adorned with demons protruding from its corners. Dressed in an all-black outfit, with grey hair and beard, Prabhas smokes a cigar while staring eerily at the camera. He shared the poster on Instagram, announcing the film’s release date, stating, “It’s time for some chills and thrills. See you in cinemas on April 10, 2025!”

Initially, Kannada actor Yash’s Toxic was scheduled to release on April 10, but after delays, the makers of The Raja Saab decided to claim that date, thus avoiding any box office clash.

Promoted as a captivating, grand-scale romantic horror, The Raja Saab will be released in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi. The film boasts a star-studded ensemble, featuring Malavika Mohanan, Nidhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher, Murali Sharma, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Jisshu Sengupta, Brahmanandam, and Yogi Babu in prominent roles. According to an official announcement from the producers, the film promises to be a full-fledged entertainer, showcasing Prabhas in a massy role. It is produced by People Media Factory, with a reported budget of Rs 400 crore.

Discussing the film, director Maruthi said earlier, “The Raja Saab stands as one of my most ambitious projects to date. Collaborating with Prabhas and People Media Factory is both an honour and exciting for me as a filmmaker. We are geared up to offer our audiences a grand horror experience. Having Prabhas on board is particularly special as his electrifying screen presence infused with our horror narrative is surely to leave audiences amazed.”
