Tamannaah Bhatia on how spirituality has helped her: ‘I am the most happiest and joyful I’ve ever been in my life…’

Tamannaah Bhatia opened up about her relationship with spirituality, and how it is isn't a one-size-fits-all kind of a thing but something that each of us have to experience individually.

Tamannaah on spirituality, meditation, and religionTamannaah opens up on the kind of spirituality that keeps her happy and joyful.

At some point, the fame and pressures of being a celebrity, who is always under the spotlight, can affect the mental psyche of the person. It has only gotten worse in the era of social media where everything is magnified and the responses are instantaneous. In such times, it is important that celebrities have a way to filter out the chaos, and live a life they truly want to live. In a recent interview on The Permit Room channel, Tamannaah spoke about spirituality and meditation.

“For me, what really worked was the programs I took up at the Isha Yoga Centre. They have changed my life with all the meditation techniques, sadhana, etc… In fact, I am the most happiest and joyful I’ve ever been in my life, and that is my achievement,” said Tamannaah, who pointed out that spirituality allows her to be happy and joyful without an external support. “It isn’t like I am happy only if certain things happen… now, I am happy even if those things are not happening.”

Calling this her biggest takeaway from spirituality, Tamannaah Bhatia also shared that understanding her self has only made her more ambitious. “I am hungry for life and living. Of course, it doesn’t mean that I don’t have a bad day or a meltdown, but the recovery period has become very swift. I recommend these courses to people,” said the Aranmanai 4 actor, who candidly admitted that her friends don’t always take her meditation recommendations because they believe it is not their cup of tea. “I agree, it needs work, but I am no authority to answer any questions about it per se because meditation is a highly individualistic thing. It is your experiences that would help you navigate these courses.”

Revealing that she is a teetotaler, Tamannaah kept her spiritual game on point as she discussed the importance of purpose in life, and said, “What if the question you are asking yourself is the purpose? You might not always get the answer, but the question might give you a sense of purpose.” In a rather interesting exchange on the topic of spirituality and religion, Tamannaah stuck to her stance that it all comes down to personal experiences. “We can have the conversation, and then we will all have different opinions, and then, we go back to our own.”
