Actor Ram Charan, who is currently basking in the worldwide success of his film RRR, recently addressed how during the initial phase of his career, he wanted to be a part of the Hindi cinema so that he could reach out to a wider audience. He also wanted to meet his favourite star Salman Khan when he was in Mumbai, but before he could act on making his dreams come true, he was invited by Khan himself.
While speaking at India Today Conclave 2023, Charan talked about wanting to act in Hindi movies. He said, “I really wanted to be a part of the Indian cinema, the Hindi cinema, only because I wanted to reach out to a wider audience. I wanted to reach till Delhi, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, and the only source for all of us at that time was Hindi cinema.”
The actor then revealed that his favourite Bollywood actor is Salman Khan and before he could arrange for a meeting with him, Khan invited him home since he shares a close bond with Charan’s father, Chiranjeevi. He said, “Even before I wanted to meet, Mr Salman Khan invited me. He is my father’s very old friend. They have done many Thumbs Up ads together for a very long time. He called me, ‘Beta I heard you are in town.’ I told him how do you know but I feel nothing happens in Mumbai without him knowing. He invited me home and that warm reception I will keep in my heart”
The parties hosted by Salman Khan are known for going on until dawn. But Charan said that the Dabangg star is “very graceful” and he lets people leave who want to leave early. “If people are staying, that is voluntary,” he stated.
Ram Charan recently returned to India after attending the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles where his film’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ grabbed the Oscars trophy for Best Original Song. The actor will be next seen in Shankar’s upcoming film which is tentatively titled RC15. Billed as a political thriller, the film also stars Kiara Advani.
