On the occasion of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s 140th birth anniversary, Telugu superstar Ram Charan announced his first production venture titled The India House, which will be a pan-India project. The film will feature Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupam Kher in the lead roles.
Along with an animated promo video revealing the title of the movie and the names of the actors who will be playing the lead roles, Charan wrote on Twitter: “On the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of our great freedom fighter Veer Savarkar Garu we are proud to announce our pan India film – THE INDIA HOUSE headlined by Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupam Kher ji & director Ram Vamsi Krishna! Jai Hind!”
Helmed by writer Ram Vamsi Krishna, who is set to don the director’s hat for the first time with this movie, Charan will bankroll the film under the banner of his new firm, V Mega Pictures, along with renowned producer Abhishek Agarwal.
Agarwal is one of the co-producers of the controversial film The Kashmir Files (2022, Dir. Vivek Agnihotri). He also bankrolled the 2022 Telugu mystery action-adventure film Karthikeya 2 (Dir. Chandoo Mondeti), which became a huge success in Tollywood.
The 95-second promo that begins by stating that the film was “based on a forgotten chapter in Indian history,” soon shows its tagline “revolution is brewing”. As the title suggests, the film will shed light on the India House, a student residence that existed between 1905 and 1910 at Cromwell Avenue in Highgate, North London. The building became a hub for political activism and one of the most prominent stages for overseas revolutionary Indian nationalism. Many big names such as Savarkar, Bhikaji Cama, VN Chatterjee, MPT Acharya and Lala Har Dayal were associated with the India House.
Meanwhile, Ram Charan will be next seen in Shankar’s action drama, Game Changer. Kiara Advani also star in the movie which will release this year.
