Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Konidela are preparing to welcome their first child and in a recent interview, Upasana revealed how Ram reacted when she told him about the pregnancy. Upasana recalled that moment and shared that she is the “excited” one where as Ram is the “calming factor” in her life.
“When I told him that I think I am pregnant, he said, ‘Don’t get too excited, calm down’. Once we repeated the tests and we knew that all the tests were fine, that’s when we celebrated,” she said and added that this is what she admires most about Ram. “He’s the calming factor in my life, while I am the more excited one. I love to express my feelings; he does it calmly in his own way,” she told The Times of India.
Upasana called Ram her “go-to man” during her pregnancy for the times she is “hyper or having anxiety attacks.” She added, “He calmly sits me down and says, ‘Okay, let’s figure it out’. I am sure Ram will take an active part in parenting.”
Ram and Upasana announced their pregnancy in December 2022. In the same interview, she also spoke about how the couple is preparing to move back in with Ram’s parents as they wait for the baby’s arrival. “We both were brought up in a setup where our grandparents played a huge role in our upbringing. We don’t want to deprive our child of that joy,” she said.
Upasana, in an earlier chat with Pinkvilla, spoke about celebrating her pregnancy and said, “I think pregnancy has to be a celebration and I have been enjoying this journey as you can see am jet-setting around the world and I’m trying to redefine it for myself, and my doctor has given me a plan where I have to think about what I eat, eat nutritious food and not for two but just for me.”
