Pushpa 2 Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 34: Allu Arjun’s blockbuster film Pushpa 2: The Rule, the sequel of his 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise, has witnessed a substantial decline in its box office earnings on day 34. According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, director Sukumar’s film collected only Rs 2.25 crore on its fifth Tuesday (January 7). Despite this slowdown, the film remains a massive commercial success, consistently breaking records and maintaining its position as a blockbuster of historic proportions.
Pushpa 2: The Rule has had an extraordinary run at the box office, grossing Rs 725.8 crore in its opening week, followed by Rs 264.8 crore in its second week. Although the momentum slowed in the subsequent days, the film continues to perform well, with a cumulative nett box office collection in India standing at approximately Rs 1,210.95 crore.
Globally, Pushpa 2: The Rule has achieved outstanding success, with a gross earnings of Rs 1,831 crore, setting new records. The film’s production banner, Mythri Movie Makers, announced these figures on day 32 of the film’s cinematic run.
Notably, Pushpa 2: The Rule is now eyeing the box office record of Aamir Khan’s Dangal (2016), which grossed a staggering Rs 2,024 crore. With Pushpa 2 still going strong in theatres, it is coming closer to surpassing Dangal’s impressive record. As it stands, Pushpa 2 is still Rs 192 crore shy of achieving this feat, making the next few days crucial in determining its success.
In response to the decline in earnings, the makers of the film have announced the theatrical release of an extended version of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The new version, titled “reloaded version,” will feature 20 minutes of additional footage, taking the total runtime to 3 hours and 40 minutes.
The extended version is set to release on January 11, which coincides with director Sukumar’s birthday. This move is likely to generate renewed interest in the film and attract more viewers to the theaters.
Globally, Pushpa 2 has cemented its position as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. The Hindi-dubbed version has achieved a historic milestone, crossing the Rs 800 crore mark, making it the first Hindi release to do so.
